Supporting Lebanon

On the afternoon of August 4th, 2020, the city of Beirut in Lebanon experienced a catastrophic explosion. At least 200 dead, 7,000 injured, approximately US$ 10 billion property damage and left 300,000 people homeless. Anba Abraam was founded on love, and through the example of our Patron Saint, we are eager to serve those in need, wherever they are.

In these unparalleled times of health risks as well as economic slowdown, we have donated 10,000 masks and 50,000 Egyptian Pounds (4,752,993 Lebanese Pounds) used to purchase flour and oil. This was done under the supervision of H.H. Pope Tawadrous II and in collaboration with the Egyptian Military.

This was only possible through our generous donors and volunteers who keep our mission alive as well as help us strive for results.

While we understand that no amount of monetary contribution or physical commodities can compensate for any loss of life, our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Lebanon and all those affected by the August 4th explosion. As the psalms tell us:

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
A refuge in times of trouble.
Psalm 9: 9-10
