Since 1994, AAC Anba Abraam Charity has been dedicated to uplifting lives and creating brighter futures for vulnerable communities around the world. What began as a local initiative to support those in need, through food assistance, has grown into a global mission focused on fostering education, healthcare and community empowerment. Our History
Founded to address the urgent needs of underserved communities, AAC Anba Abraam Charity initially focused on providing food assistance. Over the years, our initiatives have grown to focus on achieving long-term sustainability. From distributing food and organizing community kitchens to supporting skill-building programs and healthcare initiatives, our journey has been one of unwavering commitment to empowering individuals and families.
By collaborating with local communities and international partners, we have extended our reach to Canada, Egypt, Sudan and beyond. Our history, shaped by resilience and compassion, stands as a testament to the transformative power of collective action.
1994: The Beginning
From the very beginning, AAC Anba Abraam Charity has been committed to addressing urgent needs across borders. With a global vision, we set out to provide food assistance and essential support to communities in Egypt and Sudan.
1998: Expanding Our Mission
Building on our mission, we introduced initiatives — such as community kitchens, distributing food and supporting families in need — reaching both local and international communities.
2009: Prioritizing Long-Term Sustainability
Recognizing the need for lasting change, we began focusing on skill-building programs, education and sustainable solutions to empower individuals and communities for the future.
2024: Continuing the Global Legacy

What People Say
On my trip to Egypt I was given a tour of a workshop which supported impoverished women to learn a trade. They are taught how to sew and use specialized equipment for embroidery. While they are training they are paid and then hired. This very important service helps woman to save up for a dowry which then always them to choose a spouse rather than to be forced into a marriage. Their work was beautiful and there was a great sense of pride in all the women we met.
While visiting Anba Abraam Charity’s projects I was most touched by a home for physically and mentally challenged children. There was a wide range of issues and ages. This project was just in its infancy and yet there were a large number of children. The children are given the respect and support that is needed where they may otherwise not receive it. The children were filled with love and joy. Much more support is needed to train and educate volunteers at the facility. With the support of donors around the world to AAC I know these kids have a bright future.
My husband and I had the opportunity to visit a home for the dying which is one of Anba Abraam’s Charity programs. We saw first hand the state of art equipment that was bought through the support and funds of donors. It was a clean and well cared for building. The patients are all bed ridden and yet they have smiles on their faces. This project has given these elderly and terminally ill people a chance to end their days in dignity and comfort. We were moved and proud that our donations were so well spent.
